I was bullied all through elementary school and all through middle school. There was a boy who ran around, calling me a buck-toothed beaver and smacking me on the butt, and the lunch monitors merely stood by, watching. When I told them what was going on, they said they would talk to him.
The next day it would happen again.
There was another boy who constantly followed me around, despite my asking him not to. First politely. When it didn't happen, I tried asking more forcefully. I tried asking the teacher to tell him to stay away, but she just said, "Oh, he probably has a crush on you," nevermind the fact that crush or not it was making me uncomfortable and I personally believe I have the right to feel safe at school. He would constantly sing the name game at me, or tell me why I owed him (which I now find hilarious because he tried in his earnest to by poetic about it).
When I hit middle school the bullying got far more sophisticated. I was not only isolated, but I was taunted for being Jewish. Especially since we had a holocaust unit, during which I was constantly told how Hitler was the coolest guy in WWII. And how he should have won. After a few weeks of this I snapped, and I hit a boy over the head with a book. So I was reprimanded, but his harassment went ignored.
In the eighth grade my things were constantly stolen and hidden from me. Off of teacher's desks; my Chorus teacher found my pencil case--which also had my money in it--under the chair. He put it on his desk and when I went to collect it after school, he went to get it for me. It was gone. I checked the lost and found, and all of the pencils--colored pencils and all--had been emptied from it. My drawings were taken off of my desks and made into paper footballs or fortune tellers. I would ask the teachers, but they told me I shouldn't be drawing in class anyways
, so who cares if people are destroying my work?
And I was one of ten other students who received the exact same treatment from the exact same people. Teachers wouldn't help us. So as a WTF to teachers everywhere, why don't bullies get caught? You have all these anti-bullying regulations, so why not use them?
Or, forgive me if this is offensive, does that only count when someone's sexual orientation is in question? Or when their sexual activity is the question? Do theft and harassment and racial discrimination no longer apply?
EDIT: WHAT THE HECK, PEOPLE. D: How are you all even finding this?
